From the very begining, social media was alway the way to diseminate band information to followers and fans! From Facebook to Twitter, ever single social media site has been every so useful and helpful! The real question here is “How have you made social media outlets work for you and your band?”. In the begining, I used it only to put out reminders of where I was playing and what time to what time I’d be performing, but everything evolves, just as it should; to help make your life easier and easier using all the social media outlets available, at the very tips of our fingers. Social media isn’t just there to serve as a reminder to your consumers the when and where’s. They can also be used to portray an image to the world about who you are and what you might be like. In common language, social media are the biggest promotional tools that can be used in this day and age, otherwise known as the information age. Sometimes, just the right pictures, quotes, videos, or info shared on these sites can gain you consumers or credentials for being the person, band, or product that they need in thier lives. For instance, I was able to gain over 20 new likes on the bands facebook page after using the “Go Live” option on the app. It was said many times on the thread that we made them feel like they were sitting in the room, listening to us, and enjoying it, even though they were hundreds of miles away and unable to attend. This feeling that we were able to give those fans that night meant the world to them and maybe even interested them even more in coming out and atteding a show in the future! Always trying to stay relevant and ahead of the curve using social media can make or break a band. How do you keep your band trending and relevant?
